Does anyone have any experience with the Nightforce SHV 4-14X50 F1? I’m thinking of getting this for my RPR chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I want to be able to comfortably shoot 1000 yards and less so will this scope help accomplish both feats? Any comments are appreciated. I spent $1275 on the rifle so I don’t want to be skimpy in the scope!

I had one on my comp rifle for a short time. With a 20 MOA base I had 13 mils remaining. It tracked fine, no issues with the glass. Just a little short on the top end for my tastes. It's now on a short barreled 308 hunting rifle and is I think it's perfect for that application.

I also had one for a while. It's a solid scope. Tracked well, held zero, I shot it out to 1000 yards regularly. I found it a lil short on the top end and wasn't a huge fan of the reticle or 5mil turrets but that's more with regards to shooting matches than just general shooting, if that makes sense? All around a very nice scope for the money.

Nightforce makes some really good optics but at that price point personally I think there are better options. Personally I would look at 4-20 Tract Toric, an Athlon Cronos, or a Sig Tango 6 in eithe 3-18 or 4-24. All those scopes are made in Japan at the LOW factory and will have better glass than the SHV line and more features. These are the companies premium optics and not an entry level optic like the SHV line and thus have a lot more features. The Cronos can be found for $1300-1400, the Tract is about $1150 and the Tango 6’s can be found for $1150-1400 depending on the model and reticle you want. All the above scopes also have a lifetime warranty.

I have one on an AR10 and it works perfect for that gun. For my eyes (getting older) I'd like a little more top end, but as far as the scope and glass I think its pretty good. That being said I have S&B, Vortex Gen I and Athlon Cronus to compare it to.
