Sierra Match King vs Nosler Custom Competition

These 2 projectiles are often available in the same caliber and weight, and prices aren't too different either. In your experience, does one shoot better than the other?

I prefer CCs in my 308. They group ever so slightly better than the SMKs but the difference is pretty slim.

CCs are pretty much copies of SMKs.

copper jackets have been the only noticeable (visual) difference the sierras are ALL nice and shiny, nosler tends to vary in color... Same BC, nosler does not mix productions which makes very consistent bearing surface lengths. Have not yet weight compared them. its a toss up between the two they are both good bullets but one thing to keep in mind is nosler copies the smk because of its record breaking accuracy and reputation. I believe the 240 grain 30 cal sierra match king is still the 1000yard IBS record holder for a 1.450" +- group...

The Nosler CC is a fair bit cheaper than the SMK. At Powder Valley the Nosler 168 is $230 for 1000 vs the SMK at ~$300 per 1000. Pretty significant price delta there. If you shop around and time it right you can pick up the 168 Noslers for around $200-$210 shipped. The Sierra doesn't shoot 50% better than the Nosler.

I find that the 190 CC shoots better than the 190 SMK in my bolt gun, enough to warrant that I would pay more for the CC over the SMK if it were priced higher. In the 77 grainers I find they shoot the same, these are the only two that I have shot. I like the Noslers a lot and they are priced better too..

10-4 on that. All my data crosses over between the two and shot the same for me.

Yeah, $47 per box of 100 175gr is too rich for my blood. I can spend $2 more and get Berger VLD 175's. I recently found Hornady match 250 round boxes for $67.
