Sierra's mini service rifle manual

A friend just got around to sending me a copy of Sierra's mini service rifle [.223] and the puzzling to me point is that they list N-140 as their accuracy load with their 77 & 80 SMK. Looking at the burn rate tables N-140 seams a bit slow ???

N-140 is a proven service rifle powder. I know a few people that use it. It's a little pricey though.

According to Hodgdon's burn rate chart ( Burn Rate ), N140 falls between Varget and RE15.

I don't use N140, but I use a lot of Varget and RE15 for 77 gr loads. Works well out to 800 yards.
