Siezing guns in the us virgin islands

Apparently the govenor thinks he is above US federal law and the constitution and figures this is a great time to do the gun grab he always wanted to.
Bastard!

Hey guys, it's for the "protection of the island" in case the national guard "NEEDS" it for their use.... and they can take your food, your generator, your fuel, any of your private property, just in case they "NEED" it....
Nice governor..... right ?????
He s counting on the hurricane hitting before US Gov can countermand him. I believe he just passed Ray Nagin for biggest dickhead when a emergency looms.
I'm glad I'm not in his neighborhood.

Mother fucker needs to suck start an Abrams . Had a few talks with the wife in reference to this kinda shit . She completely understands that when they finally come for my corpse their gonna be a bit gettin thru the brass .

How many you will never take me alive shootouts do you think will occur?

I see the world being short on men and sheepdogs . Sheep will probably comply . When they did that shit in NOLA it's because people only watch their front door as opposed to being aware of what's happening in your neighborhood . Reality is it's best not to have that fight at your front door .

If/when that fight is required most of us will have picked the time an place, long before. The "I'm just doing my job defense" is going to painful, albeit short. True LEO's will not be coming to your door, they will be sick or otherwise, so those coming will be the domestic kind most swore a oath to defend against. Most who stay abreast locally already know an have photos of the problem children/job scared/badge heavy, in their A/O. Know your enemy before he comes your enemy,...

Cocksucker would have been at home in the Third Reich.

Sorry buddy but that organization has gone the way of the Red Cross, United Way, Al Sharpton, Jesse, the NAACP, and a host of other self perpetuating rights protecting scam operations. Much better organizations to put your money behind.

Damn I was expecting a more fiery response out of you. You must be getting more restraint in your old age ;) In all honesty I agree they have done some things really wrong but then again I don't think they are the same organization they once were either. After seeing them fight tooth and nail during the Obama administration it makes feel a bit better about the organization as a whole but whatever

I do believe this order is much closer to those issued by an individual whose last name is known to history as Banastre Tarlton..... who kissed a certain George's ass.

And just so you all know, the USVI has 100% firearm registration and firearm owner licensing. The jack booted thugs will have a list to go from.

Yeah like Bravo Co , Colt , Federal , Hornady .

funny aint it jeep, the Bushes Clintons and Obama gave us a string of 30 year oneworld socialist assault on our country yet here we are splitting hairs between maoists and stalinists. they both suck and are a danger to our country.

I'm confused. In the article, the Gov states, "...I'm proud to have sponsored this bipartisan bill ensuring that we have the right to protect our families..."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Second Amendment of the US Constitution already ensure that?

Only if someone cares. Words on paper do not control a person's actions.

Gov. declares orders have nothing to do with seizing privately owned firearms or ammo, and acknowledges that neither the USVI or US Constitutions would grant him that power. He states that this would only allow the NG to bypass normal procurement channels and allow the NG to purchase COTS ammo or equipment.

§ 1522. Authority of Governor for the attachment of articles and to order the closing of establishments

(3) Declare a curfew, during such periods and with respect to such areas and persons as in his discretion the public safety requires.

(4) Any other powers authorized by law.

Upon termination of the emergency, compensation shall be paid by the Government of the Virgin Islands for the loss, damage, or destruction of any private property taken for Government purposes during the emergency.

So, according to law, the government get to suspend the Constitution at the governor's pleasure. Nice.

they come for my guns they will get the bullets first .
If the National Guard shows up at my house to take my guns, I will still be alive to see them in court. I'm not going to have a gunfight with police or troops because they have stupid or evil leaders.

There's the rub. They're counting on turning your charity, decency, and immediate self-preservation instincts against you. And that's how we wound up with NOLA weapons seized by out of town cops who may or may not have followed proper confiscatory procedure.

Where you will lose again. That kind of mentality is why it's happening there an did happen in NOLA. I cherish my freedom more than I do my life, always have always will. An yes I've lost my freedom a few times in my life for standing up for it or others.

God bless us all Veer G. I am on your side and I know you are on mine. But America is not Nazi Germany today, we have courts to restrain the executive. I can not see the world as a better place when CNN is blaring 24-7 "NRA member murders three National Guard before being killed."

I'm not going to open the door, I'm not going to cooperate, I'm not going to answer questions, I'm not going to show them where anything is. If they break down the door and ask where my guns are, then "well there is grandpa's flintlock hanging over the fireplace." Do you have any other guns? "Nope" Passive resistance, I'm up for that. Fight them in court, I'm ready. Pull a Timothy McVeigh or a Randy Weaver -- That is not going to be for me. I understand the Arguments that Randy Weaver was right, but those arguments don't bring his wife or son back from death.

In some dystopian alternate reality where President Clinton had removed the ability to seek redress through the courts, then perhaps its different.

I do not disrespect you in any form. Yet as for me I do not expect to loose that hypothetical court battle, It maybe that I have access to better lawyers than most in that situation might, but I expect my chances would be better in court than they would be in a gunfight. Further, I live with my wife and children and I also have to navigate the safest path for them.

Several Little Gun Stores in my area sell hermetically sealed burial containers designed to allow gun owners to protect a portion of their property from unlawful seizure, these might be a better choice than getting into a gun battle with the police.

It has to get to the courts before they can help. Even if you do make it to court that will take years. lots of $$$$$ and by then your property will more than likely be damaged or destroyed. Better to stop them at the sidewalk than let them in the front door.

You are not going to change any of the outcomes in your link by getting into a gun battle with the police. In order to change by violence you would have to stage an armed insurrection and replace the existing government with something new. I find the people who advocate this seem untrustworthy to me.
