Rifle Scopes SIG BDX, range finder combo scope opinions

After a recent hunting trip my friend is raving on about these. If they are so good then why aren't any militaries using them.

I couldnt find negative reviews on them , but I need honest opinions on these and the pitfalls compared to using a traditional scope with log book for accurate long range work.
