Just wonder has anyone had issues with theirs? Got one in August, had to send my first one in would not range past 1000 -1200 yards. Sig tested and replaced it and said it failed their test as well. I have not had a chance to take it out to the range but have played around with it but have not found anything to range beyond 1250 yards yet.

Just wondering what my realistic expectations should be with it’s ranging capabilities.

i had the kilo2000 model, i can range it up to 3000yards on a large building on perfect weather. I thought it was a excellent device, but it was useless in harsh California desert environment.

I have one that performs much poorly compare to my Leica CRF 2000-B, thinking that I should probably contact Sig to get it tested...

I have to say their customer service is pretty spot on. I have heard of several guys ranging deer and large rock as at 1400-1600 yards which had me thinking something was up. My original really struggled past 1,000 and left me having to lase the same target over and over to finally get a reading.

The one they sent me back seems to work pretty well out to 1200 so far, as that’s the furthest I have tested it on smaller fast food signs. Problem with living in a urban jungle.

My hopes are I can consistently range out to a mile. Considering sig claims a max range of 3,400, you’d think 1760 yards shouldn’t be a problem.

If not I wish a would have just keep my Nikon rifle hunter pro 1,000.

Yeah, Ill be sending mine back to Sig 2200 as well. In cloudy conditions I still cant range 100% IPSC targets pass 880 yards (from a tripod), that was the farthest I have been able to range. There was even a 1 mRad (60") steel target at 1760 yards that I couldnt range in the same conditions.

Heat, sunlight, mirage, pretty much any atmospheric condition, will have an effect on the lasers performance.

Anyone have any experience with the Nikon black rangex? Wonder how it compares? It’s in the same ballpark as far as cost goes. Or know of one in the $500 range that can effectively range a mile?

I've had most incarnations of the Sigs (2x 2000, 2200, 2400BDX). I sent my first 2000 back cause it would take 5s or so to reset. Then sent the replacement back cause it really struggled past 850 yards. The 2200 was decent, was generally good to 1000 but struggled past that, depending on what you were ranging. For whatever reason it was better on trees than rock faces? It would get returns on a big stump at 1500 yards. I sold it and got a 2400 BDX (I had a sig 50% cert from a match) for improved performance and because it can pair with my Kestrel 5700. SO far it's great, I can range things I never could with any of my others including the far treelike from my back deck (where I tested them all for comparison's sake). I was getting solid returns at 1790 yards on the tree line offhand when I couldn't range them with any of the other Sigs off a tripod.
