STL, home of the Cardinals.
Was at the Gunshop picking something up and noticed a Sig P220 Tactical in 45 ACP.

LOVED the feel of it. Was an FDE looking frame with matte black slide with a rail and a threaded barrel. Am really considering picking one up, but cant find much pricing info.

Can someone tell me roughly what a good price would be? Would be the first time I have bought a gun from a dealer in awhile.

ETA- changed the title to reflect accurate model.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Thanks Jason. I sent a PM to the guy LL bought his from. Cant find this exact model on his site. Is $1K really the going price?

If so, this dealer had it priced well, because it was a bit cheaper than that. Damn, I want one, just felt awesome. I am so used to the double stacked Glock 45ACP mags that I had forgotten how well a single stack fits the hand.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

After doing some research, it turns out that the pistol is properly called the Sig P220 Combat TB, for threaded barrel.

Based on the pricing I am seeing online, the shop has an excellent price, and seemed willing to come off that a bit. Good guy too, and he handles all my transfers for a very low fee. Been trying to be able to buy something from him for awhile.

I think I am going to snatch it up. Not really a pistol guy, and I usually just keep Glocks around because they work and are cheap, but damn, this pistol feels so good in the hand. Will post pics if I work it out.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Are you going to put a can on it? Dont know why SIG doesnt put suppressor heighth sights on there " tactical" pistols

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Hydro, what shop do you go to? I'm from the STL area, and going to visit next week. Don't intend on buying anything new just yet, but interested in looking around that shop. Thanks.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

I picked up my Sig 220 Combat for 750.00 used, and bought a factory sig threaded barrel for another 150.00. It will be the next one to get the Grey Guns action/trigger job. It is a great handgun, and would carry it anywhere from Alaska to Iraq. The tall supressor sights are available from Top Gun Supply. Jason

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

I managed to get it all worked out today.

Bought the new 220 Combat TB for $1K and a new Spikes Tac ST15 for $775 before tax.

Great little shop in Troy MO. He is getting set up for Class III and I plan to use him for my suppressors for both the Sig and my 20" Patriot.

Great guy. Shop is Steele Point Guns in Troy MO.

Trying to get my gear ready for a bowhunt in Callaway County MO. Leaving in about 5 hours, so no time for pics tonight, but I must say that the Sig 220 Combat has to be the best feeling gun in the hand I have had. Like the fit even better than 1911's and it should feed like a Glock.

Pics this weekend.

agreed. my shop had a couple 226,229,220 dark elites in before i stopped working with them. they certainly felt amazing. and i was very surprised as to how comfortable the aluminum grips felt.

Oh, and my TB came with tall night sights. </div></div>

not at all. have you put a different bumper on the mag perhaps? i would disassemble the mag and make sure there isnt a piece of random plastic or other foreign object below the follower. or possibly even a bad spring that has been twisted.

They did offer higher sights on the TB model, but have since discontinued offering the TB model with the taller sights. Unsure of their motive for this, as most of the standard height sights are not tall enough to see over the suppressor.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Here are some pictures of it. I noticed it has some discoloration in the finish on the underside of the frame, in the rail area.

Is this something with which they have been having problems? It is a German made frame, and I wonder if these have been problematic? Or maybe just the FDE frames?

Kind of bugs me. May have it swapped out.

Other than that, I love it. Beautiful pistol and feels so good in the hand.

First, the bad.

Then, the good. Beauty of a pistol.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Also, I will be looking to add a standard barrel to the Combat TB in the event that I decide to actually carry at some point.

Where is the best place to order the standard non threaded barrel? Are there any barrel options other than the factory non threaded Sig barrel?

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

Nice looking pistol, and that is probably the next one on my purchase list.

Looks like they didn't get a full buff on the rail area after the anodizing, so it's probably more cosmetic than anything.

As for barrels, I usually stick with OE manufacture than aftermarket, especially with my P229, just like magazines. I've never had anything work on a Sig better than factory production when reliability is my primary concern, and their hammer forged barrels are the best I've run.

Re: Sig P220 Tactical

I got the same gun, absolutely love it. The slide release is a little hard to operate, but I have read that some others P220's had the same issue. I contacted Hogue for getting some FDE grips for it, they said alot of people have been asking for them and they may start producing them.
