Sidearms & Scatterguns sIG P220 COMBAT

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

My duty pistol is a 220 dark elite. I love it. It is very accurate. I was just at the range today getting some much needed practice...
This was from 10ft with Remington UMC ammo after I already put 100 rounds through it.

Pros:
• .45
• alloy frame with full guide rails
• adjustable combat sights/tritium
• beaver tail
• aluminum grips
• picatinny rail for light/laser
• short reset trigger
• no external safety
• it's a Sig
Cons:
• the hex screws for the sights are ridiculously small so finding the right size was a PITA

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

Nice gun, if you want kydex you have to go custom though. Was looking to get a safariland for mine but they don't make holsters for the true picatinny rail.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

I too bought one and have owned it for about 3ish weeks, I sold my XD45 to my buddy for one. Picked it up for a decent deal, haven't even shot it yet though, felt really good in my hands with the single stack. Maybe Ill send it to Sig's custom shop for some work or to Gray Guns.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

One of the most comfortable .45 pistols to shoot. I love my P220 combat. Only have about 200 rds through. Just wish my Osprey .45 would show up. Also have a .22 conversion kit with a Sparrow.

How do you like the .22 kit with the sparrow? I have the .22 kit as well and was thinking about sending my barrel out to get threaded so I could toss a suppressor on it.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

Love the .22 kit. Fun to shoot and accurate. Can go out and shoot all day for cheap. I just picked up a TB kit. The TB from Sig or TGS is not that pricey. Not sure about the Sparrow yet. It is still at the dealer waiting on the ATF to do their part. The P220 kit I would recommend to everyone.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

i have a 220 combat, absolutely love the thing, ordered it when i was in iraq and waited 4 longggg months before i got to shoot the thing, upon inspection i found that the right rear tritium post was out so i spoke to a sig rep and they sent me a new sight and a t shirt with a certificate for a free mag with it. talk about customer service! all in all, i've put roughly 1k rounds through the thing and only had one malfunction, but that was due to faulty ammo. no complaints here!

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

I have a 220 dark elite and love it. It really does jockey for my top handgun spot. Rverytime I shoot it I am impressed. My only real gripe, is that over the years I've become spoiled by 1911 triggers and the sig trigger, although good, has some overtravel I don't like.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

I have found the P220 45 to be the most accurate Sig in my hands. If you are OK with the DA/SA trigger setup, the P220 is a fine handgun. Try to get a gun with the SRT (short reset trigger). It dramatically improves follow up shots.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

I don't have the 220box but I do have a 226Tag and 229I dark elite both are great guns liked them so much sold all 7 of my glocks carry 229 full time now. Very reliable guns.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

Just bought a 220 combat. Seems to be quite accurate.... Though I've only put a hundred rounds or so through it. I think it's a keeper!
Really like the ergonomics, and the SA trigger.
Only gripe, wish it had a beaver tail.

Re: sIG P220 COMBAT

I love the P220 combat, I wanted to pair it with the p220 Elite Dark but ended with the P226 Elite Dark. But the Combat feel very balanced and super accurate. The Elite Dark do have that rear sight issue when it loosens up on it's own. I ended putting red threadlock on it problem solved.
