On mine next to the ejection port there is no extractor externaly it looks smooth but a lot of the other pics I see it appears that the extractor is cut out of the slide. Mine is a 9mm made in 1998
this is what mine looks like

Re: SIG P226 slide differences

Just got this one, its external. I would almost bet the one with it on the inside of the slide is either a german one or maybe a stamped slide.

Re: SIG P226 slide differences

I have an old E.German P226 like your first pic and has an internal extractor. Looking at the SigArms online catalog, all models have external extractors now, 226 or otherwise. Possibly when they went with the solid SS slides.

Re: SIG P226 slide differences

The milled slides are US made, have the visible extractor that you are referring to, and the bolt face area (whatever you would call that) is part of the slide.

The German slides are not milled, have no visible extractor from the outside, and have a separate block where the bolt face area thingy is.

Re: SIG P226 slide differences

LOL those Mill marks on the outside of the slide look like they are where your slide serial number should be that matches the frame serial number. Seems odd that they would mill those numbers off on a CPO.

Re: SIG P226 slide differences

I could swear the slide has mill marks on the inside of the slide at the top where the front sight is all the way back to the ejection port. EDIT You posted before I did. I'm aware of what the mill marks on the outside were.

Stamped; and I actually prefer it.

Same.. much lighter than the milled slides.
