I am looking into getting a compact .45acp and have it narrowed down to these two. Any info on either good or bad will be helpful. It will be carried some and hopefully not shot too often other than for practice. Thanks guys.

Re: Sig P245 or Glock 30

I own both and will say that even though I love my G 30 (as stated by many others here), It does have a bit of a different feel in the hand than other Glocks. The Sig sometimes feels as if you may lose your grip at the bottom, but is reliable as any sig and I have never had any control problems with it. Long Story short, if you have fired a sig the 245 should offer no surprises. Shoot a G 30 before buying one.

+1 I carry a G30 everyday and love it. It is by far the best investment I have ever made.

Re: Sig P245 or Glock 30

I bought a G30 from a Hide member yesterday. I like it and plan on using it as my carry pistol instead of my G35 which is a little large. Thanks for all the input.

Re: Sig P245 or Glock 30

My only reservation on the 30 is the failure to return to battery issues they have experienced. The new -1- trigger bars are supposed to fix that, but some users are still having the issue.

I would say to shoot the piss out of it to make sure yours is not part of the small precentage that have this issue.

All Glocks do not like to be limp wristed, any failure as a return to battery is most likey from that

I understand what you mean about the limp wrist issues, but this is not that. Glock redesigned the trigger bar because the bar was rubbing on the slide while the slide was returning to battery. The old TB is -1, the new ones are -1-. Glock says this is a small precentage of the 30's, and mainly out of the precentage are the 30SF's.

Re: Sig P245 or Glock 30

I do not like the feel of the Glock 36. It does not fit my hand as well. I also like the extra 4 rds and the option to use the G21 mags.

Re: Sig P245 or Glock 30

How are you liking your 30? It is one of my favorite Glocks. I had to let my G30 with standard sights go in a trade a while back. I just ordered a new one today, with night sights. Will be glad to get it, it is an easy to carry pistol that packs a decent number of rounds. And I can put my G21 mags in it if needed.

Trying to decide on a holster. First choice is Sparks VMII, but I am tempted to try one of the IWB kydex holsters, maybe a C-Tac.
