Anyone have experience with this new suppressor from Sig?
How does it compare to the Dead Air Nomad 30 for sound suppression and POI shift when on and off?
Will be using it on a AR 15 300BLK 10.5"; shooting both sub & super. Thanks.

It hasn't been out long enough.

However, it is just a SRD762TI that has been cut down a bit. Should perform very close the to regular QD version. Plenty of info out there on them.

And after reviewing that data it basically boils down to this between the Sig and DA:

The Sig will be quieter with lower pressure rounds, especially .300blk subs by several db.

The Nomad will be quieter with higher pressure rounds like .308, and you can probably split the difference with 5.56.

The Nomad has a much better QD system, and can swap between QD and direct thread.

The Nomad interchangable end caps that can use the E-brake to knock more db and recoil off, or flash hider end caps which work very well.

All in all I think it is pretty clear which to choose. Unless you are only planning on using it for .300blk subs the Nomad is a better buy.

Thanks for the thoughtful comparison of each can! I was leaning towards the Nomad as well due to its versatility. Can you tell me if the Nomad (or any can) has better or less suppression performance if you direct thread it to the barrel? Anotherwords, does the QD system act as another baffle, or does it take up more internal air space providing less suppression performance?

Yes I can tell you that in almost all cases using a QD system will not negatively or positively impact a can's suppression performance within margin of error. There are some edge cases where it does make a difference (like tiny K cans) but otherwise no, it doesn't so no need to worry. If you use the brake as the QD mount you do get less wear on your baffles though which is nice (although not really needed in most cases as the baffles don't wear much).
