Im looking into a Sig SRD762, and i will mostly be doing more precision oriented shooting from my 308 & 260 bolt gun. Having said that I will also shoot some 300 blk from it. I dont really care about the QD feature as I wont be quickly changing it much, but I really like the tapered mount used on the QD suppressor. Is there anyway the tapered mount could actually be more accurate than the direct thread model? Which way would you go?

The most repeatable would be the QD mounts because of the tapered shoulder. If you have access to Instagram go check out The_Official_Q Instagram page. Kevin (who helped designed the Sig Cans went off and did his own thing with his new company 'Q' using the same shoulder design) has a couple videos out there explaining the taper and its benefits for repeatably and accuracy (videos were posted in September and I believe had a red shirt on). The only way to get the taper without taking your barrel to a smith is with the QD cans either SIG's or Kevin's new Q cans the 'Thunder Chicken' and 'Trash Panda'.
