I was browsing around the net looking for a cheap optic for my .22lr. I want something with a 30MM tube. I found the sightmark 1.5-5 x 32. Specs say it's FFP, 30mm tube, and has 60MOA adjustment. would be nice if it had mil adjustments but for $130 I think it may be worth a look.

Has any one played with one? do they hold zero? return to zero?

Re: Sightmark 1.5-5 FFP???

apparently so....found this on their site. Cheap scope though....

The Sightmark® 1.5-5x30 tactical riflescope (SM13015) uses cutting edge glass and lens coatings to ensure that it is the most accurate tactical instrument on the market. Precision multicoated optics are the distinguishing feature of the Sightmark tactical riflescope line; multicoated lenses offer the clearest view for easy target acquisition in both bright and low light situations. Both waterproof and fog proof, the nitrogen filled Sightmark tactical line features oversized windage, elevation and focusing adjustment knobs for easy adjustment in the field. This is a first focal plane scope (Changing the magnification changes the size of the reticle).

Re: Sightmark 1.5-5 FFP???

I have a sightmark 8.5-32? and it is a great scope for the $$. It absolutely will hold a zero on my .308 so I have no doubt it would be perfect for your .22lr. I was actually thinking of picking that up for my trainer actually.

The scope will hold zero. I've beat mine a reasonable amount. It's bounced around in my car to and fro the range for over a year and has made several long trips cross country. I pulled it out and it was dead nuts on.

I used Seekins rings which I'm sure come in to play.

The knobs on my 8.5-32 are pretty crappy. The zero stop works but the knobs really suck in my opinion. The only comparison I have is a Falcon Menace 4-14x which is night and day better.

I think for a .22lr you'd be happy.

Re: Sightmark 1.5-5 FFP???

I was at the range today. They had some sightmarks including the 1.5-5. I played with one awhile. Long story short, I sold my first gen DMS-1 and bought a 1.5-5 sightmark.

It is FFP. The mildots are usable from about 2.5 up. the knobs have 20 MOA per rev and they're kinda crappy but the clicks are usable. I didn't check the tracking or if the mildots are true mils. They work for holdovers.

my only complaint is the parallax setting it set out too far for close in work. At 25yds the image wasn't quite focused. my guess is that it's set for 100yds maybe a touch more.

it should work just dandy on my Salvage MK II
