Anyone have one of these or handled one? I am in the market for a new pistol, and I have it narrowed down to the glock 17 and the sig p226. I have handled the new gen 4 and I like it, it feels good in the hand and points naturally. The older version of the p226 is a little bulky for my hands, but sig claims their new grip fits multiple sized hands better. I still can't find a sig with the new enhanced grip in any of my local stores to try out.

    Any thoughts?

Pictured below is the new grip on top and the old grip below and the new gen 4 glock.

Can you rent both of them to shoot? They will have very different feels when firing due to DAO vs striker fired, different bore axis heights, and differing grip angles. Your best bet is to try them out. That said, I have a Gen4 G19 and love it. I have never been a big fan of Sigs.

I have a Dark Elite 220 it's absolutly awesome, it's along the same lines. I have held the enhanced grip 226. Personally I love it, I also have hands like a little girl.

Can't go wrong with the Glock either.

I sold my P226 as it never felt right in my hands and I also hate the the double/single action. I LOVE my Gen 4, G22! Superb gun for the $$.

I own a Gen 3 Glock and Sig P226. I have handled the new P226 E2 version and the ergonomics are indeed much improved (small hands). As others have stated try both because there is a significant difference between a DA/SA and a striker fired pistol. Personally I wasn't 100% happy with either the Glock or Sig E2 and ended up going with a M&P which has the ergonimcs of the E2 along with adjustable back straps of the Gen 4, but also has the consistant triger pull of a striker fired pistol. To me it had the best of all of them although each is an excellent pistol in it's own right.

I own a Sig P229 E2, & I love the contoured smaller grip. My only gripe is the fact that the nite sights are harder to see in the day.
