silly question?

just trying to understand the "deal" with armalite. do they supply weapons to the us military? I know they are great guns, but does everyone want one so bad they can't fill orders, or is this a similar problem we are having with ammo? Everyone wants one before they get banned again?

Same problem that many other firearms makers are having. Try ordering a Rock River right now. They'll tell you that they can't even give you a time frame. Nighthawk Custom has an ass load of guns ready to ship but can't get any ammo to test fire them so they won't ship them. Rock River says their problem is getting materials to build the guns, not actually getting them built.

Armalite has a great ad in the latest American Rifleman. Probably running in other magazines as well. A new National match variant of the AR-10 to be unveiled at Camp Perry this summer. That coupled with the recent reintroduction of the 5 magazines for $150.00 clams deal, suggests to me that the sky, while a touch lower, may have stopped falling...

Rock River has had difficulty keeping up with orders for at least the last year and a half if the delays for their AR -308 variant were any indication. I recall a recent post by someoone here though, that their .308 semi is now finally available. Possibly using FAL Mags?
