Sinclair OAL tool

Just pick up one but had no instructions with it.It has a steel rod 12"long, a bolt guide for the rod, and two rod stops each with double diameters. Went to the sinclair web site and couldn't find instructions. Does anyone know how to measure OAL with this set-up? Thank You Dan
