I am going to pick up a savage 11 in .300wsm tomorrow. I have read about both types of scope bases and can't seem to decide on which one I need. I am going to hunt with/try my hand at long range shooting with this gun. Suggestion?

Re: single piece base or two peice base?

two piece base makes loading an internal magazine easier, especially with gloves, otherwise the one piece will be stiffer/straighter

Re: single piece base or two peice base?

The one piece base is more versatile when it comes to positioning your rings and scope. I was always told that it makes the action stiffer, but that may be BS.
