What is the advantage of a one piece mount over single rings? Does it mean I don't need to lap the rings? Does it hold it more securely? Less prone for mounting errors?

looking at either the vortex precision rings or the badger one piece in 34mm for a razor HD gen II. I have the lap bar for a 1" and 30mm but not for 34mm. This going on a ruger precision .308 so not much kick.

One piece mounts have an advantage where you need to cantilever the scope out farther than the base will allow in order to get proper eye relief such as with the AR-15 platform. Otherwise single rings will work just as well as a one piece mount in just about any situation and generally be cheaper as well. If you buy quality rings such as the Vortex Precision/Seekins rings or Badger rings you should not lap them, ever.
