Hello folks,
I am building yet another precision AR 308. Will be using a 26" Bull Krieger barrel (308 Obermeyer) with the Mega Maten MKM Keymod receiver set. Geiselle Match Trigger. JP low mass bolt carrier group. Magpul PRS stock, etc. So, needless to say, the utmost accuracy out to several hundred yards is what i am trying to achieve. I will likely have $3,500 into this build when its all said and done.
With that, there are theories that "compensators" can negatively affect accuracy. Do you beleive this? I have never built a precision rifle with a "compensator". I have built many with "Muzzle Brakes" however that are tack drivers with Krieger barrels. Since "compensators" put downward pressure on the barrel do you think i would be crazy to go with the SJC Titan Compensator with this precision build? Otherwise I can go with a trusty surefire suppressor adaptor/brake.
Thoughts would be appreciated as I am not an expert on barrel harmonics.
Also, i will post another question but if you know anything about .936 adjustable gas blocks, i am curious. I am looking for one and I dont like how the JP blocks dont have adjstment screws that "lock" in place. I am now starting to read about SLR. I have never heard of them before and a year ago i searched high and low for the block design that they seem to have. Are they the best blocks if one is looking for a .936 adjustable block that "locks" the adjustment screw in place? Syrac doesnt have one in the .936 size.
