I am evaluating ammo choices this off season. This season I shot SK LR. It did ok but the ES is wide and it’s running around 1120.

I’m debating going back to Eley because it was 1100 or less.

What does SK LR do out of your rifles?

This was out of an ACE 1:16

SKLR is 30-40fps faster than SKRM and SKS+ for me. Usually about 1065. They all spread vertically in a similar way though. Quite temp sensitive for velocity too. My wife will shoot out my SK in her CZ, and I will not buy more. Eley Club will be what she shoots next. I use Eley Team/Match.

SK match was really temp sensitive for me. Eley seemed to stay consistent.

Vertical spread is what I’m having an issue with.

1110 in both a PVA 24” 12 twist and Bart 22” 16 twist.

Only use it for matches beyond 100yds because my supply is limited…

The difference in barrels (and I’m not certain why) is needing to adjust DSF on the 12 twist.

Love the SKLR, and am getting ready to test Lapua LR.

If you are going to use Eley it's a must to lot test. KSS has many lots in stock. I just ordered 6 lots of Tenex to test and only expect 1 maybe to will shoot up to my standard.

I wouldn’t call it a must to lot test but you might as well send the rifle to the test center if wanting to do it with too many lots. Buying six lots isn’t a bad way though if they have enough of it all. I would test it fast though. lol I did find that Match shot better at long range than Tenex ever did and that’s multiple lots of both. I shot a lot of Match and the Edge before they discontinued it.

I have some Lapua SLR and I like the SK LR better. Try it in yours but I like that the lesser expensive ammo shoots better. lol

When I was shooting my tikka, match would always bang. Some might be one ragged hole and some might be an oval ragged home but it was always good enough to shoot a match.

I've had good results with SK LR and Lapua LR; both average 1107fps, both have single digit SD 5-8fps, with ES 25-30fps. I have some Eley Club that has really good single digit SD 7-8fps with ES 22-25fps, but it's a bit faster @ 1135fps. All out of my Vudoo with 20" Ace 1:16.
