Hello all. I recently purchased an AI AT LE model with the upgraded AIAX stock. I’m having issues with the rear sling QD swivel hitting the cheek piece. The cheek piece is lower due to my big ass catfish head and the lower 1.5” scope mount required with my night vision bridge/system. Anyone ever had this issue?

Which sling are you running? What spot do you have the sling on. I’ve got the same rifle. And haven’t had a issue
Yes. It’s a design issue with the current gen AX buttstock, which appears to have been addressed on the new ASR/AXSR by having the rear sling point be on a buttpad-mounted plate.
Your best bet, and what I do personally, is to use the QD attachment point directly above the pistol grip. It works well for me when I carry muzzle down since it keeps the suppressor from scraping the ground.
If you’re needing to use the rear QD for shooting while slung up, I don’t know that there are many good options. Might have to bust out the Dremel if you really need the room.
They put it in a better spot on the AX-AICS chassis.

I have this same issue w/ my TAB Gear PRS sling w/ QD push button/flush cups on my AIAX. I run the cheek piece at 2.5
I have the AIAX stock as pictured. When the rifle is set up for me the cheek piece is more forward. Running the Armageddon gear shooting sling and it’s attached via the QD hole on the stock. It’s not a super big deal but when it rotates in makes contact and I’m afraid on a long enough timeline shits gonna get fucked up more than cosmetics.
It was stupid for AI to put it there and not lower/more centered out. Thinking about using the Blue Force wire type sling ends to loop around the skeleton/hollow area of the stock or to use one of the locking Magpul push button sling hole-to-HK clip things to get clearance...maybe that will solve the issue.

Problem is, anything that hangs or attaches below it in the port hole area, it will prevent the stock from folding close over the bolt.

I use the Tab PRS sling with my AX. The QD above the pistol grip works the best for me. I cinch tight to hold it close to my chest, then use the quick release to lengthen the sling for movement. This also allows me to fold the butt stock over with the rifle across my chest.
I used this method during the Guardian GTI team match and it worked great. No issues going up stairs, or even caged ladders with the AX across my chest.
