Guys:

I've got an A-4 stock that has two sling studs. One on the bottom of the forend and one on the butt of the stock. I need to add at least one more stud to the front forend because I have a bipod on that one and its uncomfortable to carry(16lbs). I was thinking of adding the studs on the left side of the stock. I'm not very machanically inclined and there really isn't anyone close to take it to. Any advice or posts on this would be a big help.

Thank you.

Re: Sling stud help

You could install these or flush cups. Flush cups would be better on the side. All you have to do is pack the stock up and ship it to someone if you aren't up for the task.

I still recommend a flush cup for the side though. I would want a standard stud on the side of my stock. We have plenty of both.

Re: Sling stud help

One other nice thing I discovered about flush cups is an add on that Scott McRee has / makes. It's a sling swivel stud that goes into the flush cup so that you don't have to replace all your sling swivels on your slings. All you need is a small allen wrench to push on the recessed detent to get it in or out. Nice bit of kit.

Cheers,

Doc

Re: Sling stud help

Thanks guys and I like the info about not having to change my swivels. I saw a thread on flush cup installation here somethere a while back. Might buy some and practice on an old stock of some sort.

Thank you.
