I'm bored. I have a SLR Rifleworks B30 billet upper/lower set thats been just sitting in the safe, a stack of different length SLR handguards and I don't think I need another 6 Creed gasser.

I like shooting shit that kicks hard so I'm not shy to recoil. Thinking a 12.5" barrel.

Have any of you built this with any success e.g. functions/feeds well, enjoy shooting it, shoots theirs suppressed?
What have you built or would you build?

And go.

If you do go with a SBR in .308 before you start I would call Todd at SLR. He is a guru in making things like that run. He can tell you what works and what doesn't. It will save you tons of time and headache.

I have an 11.5" 308* and it's a blast to shoot. Literally. You're going to want a blast deflector of some sort or a suppressor rated for a 12.5 308 semi-auto.

My biggest challenges revolved around the LAW Tactical Adapter not locking up tight enough and causing some binding. I also had to switch to an A5 system.

* - TN state law, at the time, was that I could carry a "rifle, handgun, or shotgun" in the vehicle with me. I could not keep an SBR, SBS, AOW, or "firearm" in there legally. TN state law has a definition of handgun that includes the requirement that the barrel is less than 12". So in order to stay legal, I had to build an AR10 "handgun" which meant a barrel less than 12" even though 12.5" is fairly common.

I have a 12.5" SLR B30 with an SLR adjustable gas block. It was simple to tune and been accurate at night with thermal. I am waiting on a Form 1. I bought the Chimera specific for it and it has been indestructible thus far.

I just got done building a suppressed 308. Only have a few rounds down it. So far it’s quite as can be for a sbr. Might try some subsonic rounds down the road

Finally finished sourcing all the kit for this 14.5" KAC SR 25 SBR, 1:10 RH late 2021; would like to shoot it 300 - 400 meters. I have about 175 rnds thru it so far getting some data with M118LR last weekend. I have ~10-12 Law Gen M3 folders that all work perfect. Still looking for a KAC 31693 NOS bipod! there was one on ebay a couple of months ago, lost the bid @$1500 with a few seconds to go! Easily fits in a common pack.

I recently pieced together a 12.5 large Frame Frankenstein lr_308. It was rough at first. I ordered a complete Aero upper(not even close to what I got) from Moriarty arms. Huge mistake, the chamber was tigh. Sticking a case hard with every shot. I sent it back, and they sent me the same barrel back, but with a different bolt. Ran for 250 rnds then done. I gave up on it, and ordered a 12.5 cmmg mk3 barrel. The CMMG barrel is sweet. Midlenght gas, and a psa adjustable gas block has this rifle running perfect. I have a pinned PWS CQB compensator to control the blast. The recoil is smooth, and the gas has been tamed. As for accuracy it with hand loads is about .75 moa. The bolt is the lantac nibx, I put an aero precision trigger,
