Has anyone used or have any feedback on the new SLR Renegade Charging Handle? I've got several Raptors but I'm interested in these not just because of the way it works but because of it redirecting gases when Suppressed.

I tried one out on a friends upper for a brief time. It seemed okay but I can see where it is already starting to wear a channel (from the detent) in his upper receiver. It had previously been unfired.
I have no knowledge of the SLR Renegade Charging Handle, but i have been using the Fortis Hammer and i love it, smooth as silk!

Regalkismet, what makes you think the SLR CH redirects gas? I actually saw these a couple weeks ago and thought the Mod 2 looked like it might be effective managing gas blowback in suppressed set ups, but I've never seen it back on the site since. Now it's only the mod 1 around which I don't see anything that would make me think it's effective in managing gas blowback. Have you checked out the Armageddon Tactical GMS-15? I grabbed one for a 10.2" 5.56 I run suppressed and it has quickly become my favorite CH!
I've Googled it and several adds talk about its GMS and some have pictures showing it.... Here's some:

That's what concerned me... I ordered one to try but I'm not sure I'd use it unless Suppressed due to wear concerns.... How many rounds on his rifle?
Thanks for the info and I checked them out when the first came out but after using the Raptor I don't think it offers anything the Raptor doesn't.... I think the Raptor is the gold standard currently unless you need gas redirection.
We had a few variations of springs for the Renegades in the beta versions.
The production ones are GTG and do not wear on the upper any more than a std CH. Its just in a different spot.
There is only the 5.56 version out now. Mod1
G2 and .308 upper versions coming later this year.

The SLR uses a leaf spring and detent arrangement, from what I can see in the pics of it. Can you adjust the tension on the leaf spring? I was concerned about CH latch notch wear as well. Since the AR15 was never really designed with the rear charge handle arrangements, it is a trade-off between keeping debris out of the receiver, and human interface with an odd charge handle position.
I was looking to get the Rainier Arms Raptor, but they didn't have any so I got the BCM Ambidextrous Charging Handle. It seems to work OK for the short time I have had it. Only time will tell how long it will last with a lot of use. It is real easy to get your finger or fingers without looking for it which I like better than the original one that came with the Colt. It also helps when you have a scope on top of a flat top.
The one you are talking about looks like an interesting concept of the spring loaded ball engaging the locking slot. I would like to see one of them and try and see if I would like to use one.
