This is a postal match, where you shoot the targets I send you on your home range, then send them in to be scored.

Participating in this match also helps raise money for AmericanSnipers.org. In three years of contributing part of the entry fee to AmericanSnipers.org, we have raised almost $6500 which has been used to buy gear for our soldiers in harm’s way!

More info below and on the website.

Good luck!

DEADLINES

I have added an entry POSTMARK DEADLINE so there is an actual cutoff so I don't have people sending entries with 5 days left. With the deadline where it is, someone entering at the deadline will still have a minimum of 2 weekends to shoot. This means your entry needs to be POSTMARKED by the date listed to be entered in the current match.

Please note: ALL DEADLINES LISTED ARE REFERRING TO POSTMARK, NOT RECEIVED-BY DATE

The target return deadline needs to be adhered to so I can get the results posted in a timely manner. This is also a POSTMARK DEADLINE

PRIZES

Prizes are donated by generous and willing vendors, so please don't forget them when you need to buy some gear. Prizes are given away as a raffle using the completed targets you send back. So there is no incentive to cheat, as the winner has no assurance of getting any prizes. If you send back a completed target in both RIMFIRE and CENTERFIRE class, you have 2 chances to win.

I'll be in this one.

Also, want to send out a big thank you to all of the sponsors. This is great fun.

Jim

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

ill be doing it again too...be expecting my fundalation

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

We will all be doing it all over again. This time around, it will be my whole family and also our friend Vince, and we will "ALL" be shooting Centerfire and Rimfires. My boys are taking the .308 bait!

JB, what will the cost be for 10 targets?? (5 Centers & 5 Rims ) Thanks!!

Yes, I know that only makes it 1 target for each class for each person shooting... but I can't afford to pay for any more targets, or shoot any more ammo!! LOL!!

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

I believe that I have also talked my buddy Spotter300 into shooting the matches with us... we will see!!

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

DK - if you are sending check just multiply by 3.50/target. For paypal just add a buck. That will come close to covering their surcharge.

Good luck guys (and gals)

JB

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Funds have been sent for myself and Bruce(cantseeanymore) for a few CF and a few RF. it will be fun as usual.

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

FYI guys:

Most regular shooters get the same number of targets each time and to the same address, and a few have mentioned that it would be handy to pay for the whole year at once. So you would pay for say 2 of each class for all 4 matches at once (in the Spring), then I would send you the prescribed targets for all 4 matches thru the year.

Does this seem like a worthwhile change? I am considering it, just need to work out the logistics on this end.

Thanks for your feedback,
JB

Sure, I'd go along with that.

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

I would be in for buying a year's worth of targets. It would save on postage and administrative hassle. The only issue is that someone might be tempted to shoot them all when conditions are really good... but then again, I guess there is also the temptation to shoot them at 25 yards, so it is really based on the honor system anyway.

I am only worried that as disorganized as I am, I might lose the targets... or my 2 year old might get to them:-0

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

I would like to do the years worth of targets. I have been buying two of each, and I don't plan on changing my order any time soon. Do you want to wait until next year to start this? I am going to be sending a check for this match today.

By the way, I appreciate the work that goes into this and I am happy to be a winner of a stainless guide rod on the last contest.

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

That would be really nice JB. so what you are saying is we pay for them all up front and then each match of the 4 matches you send us our 2 or however many targets????

jake

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

If you decide to opt for the years worth of targets... would you still be offering them up at the time of the matches??

The reason to be asking is, with multiple shooters, snagging the funds for a years worth would be a stretch for me.

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Few answers:

-Targets will be mailed out for each match on the normal mail out dates, only paid up front, not mailed all at once.
-Yes, still normal match entry in addition to the yearly "subscription," this is just for the regulars that want to shoot every match.

Any other concerns?

JB

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Latest received entries on the homepage!

Good luck,

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Good idea.
When can we send in the year subscription? Are you ready to recieve the 2011 subscriptions now?
Is there an extra cost for the subscription service?

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Check inbound today. I'd be interested in the yearly subscription so I don't have to remember to mail out the checks 4 times a year.

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Scott,

No extra cost for yearly subscription, same cost, but saves you a few stamps

No 2011 payment till 2010 season is over please.

Mel, welcome back

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Payment in the mail as of Saturday for the round of Fall targets. I would be interested in the yearly payment plan. That would ensure I dont miss out on any of the action.

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Sent in my rimfire target this afternoon. I'm quite pleased with the results seeing as how I'm using a brand new 10/22 that I just finished putting together less than two weeks ago...

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Well, I am hoping that we get a chance to get out tomorrow and do some shootin. I am not on-call this weekend, but it has been rainin like crazy here in the mountains.

We will see, but I have my fingers crossed!!

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Funds sent for 2 centerfire targets...never tried this before so I'm pretty excited to see what I can do! doesnt hurt some of it goes to a good cause!!

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

WOW, you have got to be kidding me. I really thought I had something going for rimfire score until the unexplain 1/2 inch low shot. The 10th and final shot was not what I was hoping for. OH well, I turned a decent CF score in but man, what the heck!!!

Anyway enjoy. Shot with a Anshcutz single shot lilja barrel 22 LR. Usually really accurate for 9 or 10 shots. LOL

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Really a very nice target, even with the low round. Outta place really high in the standing. Great shootin!!

I am not sure yet what I am going to be able to do here. We went out to both of the areas that we shoot, and there are hunters all over the place. I am happy for the hunters, but I was really bummed out. So we will see...

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

ZRAT, that was my confidence shot that hit low so I think the score will be a zero. Is this right???

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

The only points that you will lose is that part of the target. All the rest of the hits will score. Not to mention that you get bonus points for the Smileys you hit, and for dunkin out the 25 ring!! You done great!!

DK

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

oh ok, i thought the whole target was a 0. nevermind then i will send it in

Re: Smack the SMILEY Fall 2010 ---> ENTRY OPEN!

Always make sure to send in a target, as it is just a lottery ticket. It stands just as good a chance to win if it WAS a -0- score target as any other.

I think my Spring target was a -0- for the Rimfire, but I sent it in anyway. My whole family is sending in 1 target from both the centerfire and rimfire groups. We all only have 1 target to shoot, so it don't matter what the score happens to be.
