Subscription sent for two CF targets via Paypal. Looking forward to trying this again, last time I didn't get a chance to shoot it!

Gettin kinda excited around here... just waitin to get out there and bust some!!

DK

Got the targets in the mail. Now we just have to find the time. Hopefully it will be soon.

DK

We will finally be gettin out early I'm the mornin and gettin it done!!

I'm sooooo ready!!

DK

Got to shoot my targets on Saturday. They're on their way back in the mail. I did pretty good (for me) on my centerfire target but did absolutely terrible on my rimfire target.

Kinda sad. I can do soooo good on the majority of the target, and then screw up the confidence shot. Unbelievable.

Still a good time out with family and friends, but dang.

DK

Another lousy CF here, also had some help from a fellow shooter who didn't realize they were shooting my target (not that it messed up my score any). I tried to mark it pretty clearly Jason, but if I get a zero, no worries. RF was my best yet (possibly my first over 200), but almost butchered the confidence shot. Always a great learning experience.

Yep, we had a few random "wrong target" hits as well. Cris is 12, so we try to cut him a little slack. He is trying though, I gotta give him that!!

Happened to me with CF this round. I had a for sure winner. Hit all the smilies and a tiny group. I decided not to press my luck with the 40 point smiley and went for the 30 pointer... and whiffed it. Today, I was shooting the last shot and decided to go for the 40 pointer... AND HIT. It is a personal best for me (I think), but probably not good enough for the win unless other people screw up.

My RF this round... not so good. After getting an awesome score in my local club's rimfire F-class match a couple of months ago, I had a horrible round of Smack the Smiley and a bad smallbore F-class match. The Texas Championship is this coming weekend. I hope I do ok.

What's the postmark deadline for this one for finished targets? I totally spaced it with SH Cup coming up soon.

As others have stated - there is always an opportunity to learn from this competition. This round I have been slammed with work and only had one opportunity to shoot. I managed to leave the house without my regular rear bag and decided to go ahead and shoot with a stand-in. Both my CF and RF targets severely suffered. Will make it a point not to do that again...

Sent my single rimfire in today. First time the target won't be wet from rain. Shot not as good as I could have though. Going to sign the wife up as well to shoot. She had a great time shooting my leftover targets and wants to challenge me now ?

I have a Smack the Smiley geek story. I shot the 40 pt smiley and hit it low and left. I was going to go for it again and I had two choices, hold dead on and hope that I hit it the same again, or hold just a little to the right to try to get a closer hit and give me a little more margin for error. I opted to hold dead on and hit to the right this time. Had I held right, it would have been a miss. I think one of the most difficult things about this match where you have so little room for error is knowing when a shot is just a little off because of natural variation of the shot pattern and knowing when the shot is off because of something you did. Self awareness is key.

It seems to me that EVERY target is getting to be a more and more humbling situation for me... as sad as it is. I finally got some different match rimfire ammo, as we are going to give that a try next time around. Hopefully it will be more to my Savage's liking. I still can't get my hands on any more Wolf Match.

I got the notification from Midway that my 105s are on the way for my .243Win. I am excited to see what the continued load recipes will produce from this stick!!

Let the humbling continue!! LOL

I am in the same situation, I have just enough wolf match for one more STS match then I will be using unproven stuff I found.

SMACK THE SMILEY SPRING 2014 RESULTS

Congrats to RichardL and Gremlin our SPRING Match Winners! Very nice scores fellas!

With the Spring match, we raised another $247 for AmericanSnipers.org!! That puts the total over $11000 raised from the Smack the Smiley Match!

Competition was tough as usual, with many good scores. Though not as many high scores as normal. You gotta nail everything to be near the top but this time only the top 6 targets were over 200 - normally it is double that!

Results should be up on the website soon, but here they are below for those that can't wait<graemlin_url>

Thanks guys!

I start accepting entries for the SUMMER 14 match JUNE 13. Don't forget, you can pay for the the rest of the year at one time and I will send out targets at the beginning of every match! Click here for details: Contact Smack the Smiley!

Damn hoping this would be my best rimfire yet but knew my group size was pretty bad. Time to go practice.

Nicely done to the winners. Thanks to all the sponsors and JB as always.

Nice work Gremlin and Richard L. Man! It has been a year since I have taken a rimfire match... not that I was expecting to win with this match's target. Gremlin, you should shoot smallbore f-class. You have been cleaning up with that 10/22, and most of the score is at 50 yards, just like STS.

Thanks Jason and Vortex. I don't think I have ever owned a new scope before. Nice shooting Gremlin, Carter, and Richard.

Man oh man... even my best Rimfire score didn't even come close. Time to get serious it would seem!!

Congrats to everyone shooting, all the sponsors, and to JB!! Thanks for everything!!

DK

Thanks JB. Special Thank you to our generous sponsors.

Congrats to Gremlin and Richard L good shooting. Gremlin you have that 10/22 hammering.

Carter your consistency is remarkable, keep it up.

Mark

Holy cow,
I just now looked at this and realized I have won an lra bipod. That makes my day!! Especially since the match kicks my butt every time! .

Thanks Jason for putting this all together. If there is any way you can send me any contact information for the people at LRA also so I can make sure to thank them that would be great.
