Looking for a small but well made and very smooth and precise press to dedicate to bullet pointing. I have a basic Lee dedicated to decapping because that operation is slam bang. I use a Forster for sizing and a now a arbor for seating. Neither of which will work for pointing, (have to change the shell holder on the Forster). Want something really solid and smooth but not huge.

I belong to a club where BR matches are held, and the old men make fun of me and shoot groups that start with .0, most of those guys use a RCBS Partner Press to FL there cases, it will serve you well, I bought one off of E-Gay for 45 bucks delivered

"... precise press to dedicate to bullet pointing."

What's "bullet pointing"? Whatever, sounds like you want a Harrels press.

+1 for Harrells Precision press, like this one:

Compact Reloading Press

Re: Small Press recommendations.

I'm not sure how much force bullet pointing takes. But if not too much, you might check out the Huntington Compac hand press. It is small, lightweight, very accurate, and uses conventional shell holders.

the hollywood single stage press is cast iron and build like a tank, and smooth precise stroke with that huge column it rides on

Re: Small Press recommendations.

thefitter,

Came across this today on E-Bay:

C&H H Press

These are great old presses. And this is the cleanest looking one I've seen in years. I've had a single stage C-H press for over 20 years. And although I have larger presses, this one is very useful, as it sit on top of your bench and not below it.

You can see mine at the far end of my bench, as shown here:

I also use a Partner press. Small, light and not too overly expensive. Right nice little press. I DON'T use it to full length size 300 WinMag. But for smaller cases it does very well. At the range I use it to F/L size 6PPC. At the shop I use it to seat bullets that I have already assembled everything else on another press.

I have ~9 presses, and I am partial to the little green Aluminum frame <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">RCBS Partner press</span></span>.
The benchrest guys clearance the ram, but mine is stock.

I got it dirt cheap used. It is a pleasure to use.

"The hollywood single stage press is cast iron and build like a tank,.."

That's true. But small they ain't. And they can be hard to locate these days since they've been outta production for decades.
