buddy of mine just got one of these rifles looks nice has a 1/8 twist was wondering what grain of ammo to start with he is just going to punch paper with it and hunt coyotes once in awhile i recommended 62gr fmj but would like some of your guys opinion

what about pmc 55gr fmj seems alot of ar shooters are using this and are supposed to be clean and accurate

77 Sierra matchkings are the bullets to shoot in a 1:8 if you can keep the velocity up.
The 69 SMK, or 68 HPBT (Hornady) will likely give you the best overall accuracy.
55's should shoot as good as 55's do.

Most 62's are not good target bullets.

I'll second this. The black hills 69 and 77gr ammo (not reloading yet) shot great out of my larue 1 in 8" upper. I'm pretty sure these use the sierra match kings. The remanufactured rounds beat out all of the more expensive ammo I tried.
