Nice thing is, it's one screw and an easy swap.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

I have had a PRS for two year and while I like all the adjustable features I did not care for the extra weight it added over the A2, I thought about buying a M110 stock. But the standard A2 did work well I just had to add a cheek piece.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

I had the M110 stock on my SR and enjoyed it. I'm more of the tradtional type stock person with the option for adjusting length.

They are quite expensive but the quality is typical Knights. Wish I had kept it when putting the original parts back on the rifle before selling it off.

If you go with the M110 stock just remember to use the shorted screw supplied (or should be supplied) because the original screw will hit the buffer............... just ask me how I know.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

I am in agreement with Sharpshooter. I have a Magpul PRS on my AR-10 and although I like the features, it adds a considerable amount of weight to the rifle.

I had the same problem with my PRS...the screw was too long (way longer than it needed to be) and the buffer was hitting it causing it to short stroke.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

I have a prs that I trimmed 1/4 inch off of the heek piece to make work on my lar-8 . I wish I had never spent a dime on it. I have swapped back to the a2 since my personal experience is the prs is only useful from the bench . trying to get into a shooting position when varmint hunting is a pain in the but because it seems any elevation of the cheeck piece or the hook on the bottom snags every vine or clinging weed known to man.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

A2 gives a good cheek weld, i run the PRS because i got a good deal and it isn't a front heavy pig - now it's just a better balanced pig

Plastic except for the hardware on the trap door

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

The A2 works for me. You can add weight to an A2 in the form of the trimable lead weight that goes in the stock compartment. Its cheap and easy.

Paying $200+ for the bling factor of an adjustable buttstock on my varminters is just a bit too unreasonable for me.

My varminter is a much smaller, much lighter weapon with an A2.

The gun on which the PRS will go is a long range precision rifle build.

Re: Sniper/Long Range Stock for AR

That command arms stock with the mono pod looks pretty nice. I've got a PRS on my POF and i don't mind the extra weight. It was a little noticeable when i switched to it from the VLTOR e-mod. But i like it alot better! it also seems better balanced too. I've also got the BT-17 monopod from accushot which i like alot.

No once adjusted my stock has never been readjusted. YMMV
