So Abbott or West for TX governor?

Hopping around tells me that his ad is full of shit. He wants to have the power of the position and is secondarily concerned with the constituents. If this were not true then why didn't he just go ahead and hit the private sector for a real job once he lost in Florida? Or just take a job as the justice of the peace if his concern was the good people he is part of? Why go carpetbagging and looking for other high political positions in far away lands?

Also regarding that ad: those old timers in the video were from other parts because no one was from Texas at that time. Texas was actively opening up the land for settlers to come in. Those with balls and little to lose came to fight the Indians for a slice of independence and it cost many of them untold miseries. To use them as an example of himself and his efforts in Texas is disingenuous. Loosely associating himself to Travis and others who died in the Alamo is ridiculous. And quoting the Old Testament Book of Esther "for such a time as this" to pander to the Jewish and Christian vote was way too much as it shows that he is only using it as a tool and doesn't take Scripture seriously; if he did he would realize the context he is comparing his campaign to - and stop.

Maybe West would be more proactive rather than reactive as Abbot has been. It’s hard to say but splitting the republican vote only open the door for the Democrats

Its not splitting votes in any way that would benefit democrats, West is challenging him in a primary for the Republican nomination
