Here awhile back I was talking about a cradle for a tripod to shoot off of and I was thinking of making my own version. I know this is not a professional piece and the looks and cost reflect it! I found the cradle on EBAY while goofing off one night and searching random words like tactical and such. It cost me just under $6 TYD. I already had the tripod, now it's not a fantastic tripod, but sturdy enough. I don't remember the cost, but I know it wasn't alot because I'm cheap! So I had some krylon in the shop and this was what I ended up with. I figure all in all I might have $50 bucks in it, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'd bet the tripod was only like $20 or something.

It works very well sitting. I haven't tried it standing yet, but it feels sturdy enough that it should work just fine. I figure all in all it's better than nothing for an off handed type of shooting where maybe I can't get proned out. It also straps right to my bug out bag where it doesn't get in the way and it doesn't weigh very much either! What do you think?

Looks good to me. Heck of a lot cheaper than a BogPod and looks like it should work just as good. I've been considering doing the same thing with an old tripod.

It works, but I'm sure there are better and more expensive options! I'm cheap by nature, just ask my wife! Really thought I can't just throw money around right now as my wife is having a surgery next month so it's kinda tight right now. Thanks

The top looks like a shooting stick top, so you should be able to find those in plenty of places. Another good point to that setup is that it has the hook in the middle to add weight to in order to stabilize it when its fully extended. May or may not help for standing.
