Re: So, what do yo think on this stock idea?
mark5pt56,
Another "Dear Sniper Hide", what shall I do do posting. Please tell me what to do so I don't have to expend any gray cells thinking about it.....
What do you want to do with your rifle? Hunt, compete, just paper punch; all of the above, none of the above.
Nobody could give a reasonably cogent answer to your above questions unless they know what you intend to do with said tools.
Sure the AICS is a great chassis, for somethings, not so great for other things. What you have to ask yourself is why do you want to sell what you have, and what the possible gain is?
Selling your old stock should be easy. Buying an AICS 2.0 is easy also. Why do you want to sell the whole rifle? If the barrel is too long, shorten it. If you want it threaded, thread it. If you don't like your barrel, rebarrel it.
If the whole package is not what you want, sell it and buy what you want. Our permission is not required, and our acquiescence with whatever plan you choose may be comforting somehow, but will not improve your shooting or your bank account.
I'm not picking on you personally, but some of the questions lately are downright silly. I mean think about for a minute or two: Asking anybody: "I don't like what I have, so should I sell it and buy something I might like better"?
The correct answer to such a question is: Yes, No and Maybe...
Does that help?
Perhaps another way of soliciting useful information is the pose the question this way:
I have a PSS stock with the following mods: X, Y and Z
I am considering a AICS 2.0, as a replacement.
I want to do A, B and C with it.
What are the pros and cons of going with a AICS 2.0 for those applications?
Once you have absorbed all responses, then decide....same train of thought on your barrel, and whether to sell your rifle, but different posts.
Glean information, make decision. Simple, but do you own thinking.
Just saying,
Bob
