NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NEVER, EVER use compressed air from an air compressor to blow the chips out. That is a sure fire way to have to send it back to me to change the bearings when they get contaminated.
Suck them out with a vacuum (shop vac), dump them out by gravity, brush them out with an old brush, but don't blow 100psi compressed air inside because you will only push chips under the bearing seal. I can show you several bearings that were killed prematurely by doing so. If you really have to blow, use only a prepackage can of computer cleaning air duster or your own breath.
Please read the instruction manual that is sent with each trimmer or print it out off the website if you lost the original.
