They are just ID'd as to their primary use. I've used them on rifle for years, as has McMillan, Manners, and XLR. They are THE best for recoil reduction. See the drawing in the second pic - gives all the dimensions. That noted, typically the sides are ground to match the exact contour of the actual stock - they are almost never a simple screw on with a perfect match (too many different shapes).
