does the safety function correctly/what kind of trigger do you have on it? Is the stock painted, or dipped?

Yes everything functions great. I have a two stage huber on it right now but I have also had a factory remington trigger in it also. Factory bolt release also works good if you have that. Stock is painted and matte clear coated. I painted my 22lr the exact same way and it held up great after thousands of rounds
