Solving Rear Bag Elevation Without Breaking Position

I've been prototyping a new rear support tool that solves one of the biggest issues I’ve had when shooting off bags:
Maintaining precise elevation without shifting your position.
Instead of a traditional squeeze bag, we built a steel-based rear bag system with a smooth elevation knob and a Cordura bag on top. It stays stable on the bench and keeps your shoulder weld tight — you don’t have to break position to make micro-adjustments.
We're calling it the High Roller™. I shoot with it every week, along with a few other people that have been helping us fix a few things as we develop it. They won't shoot without it anymore.
So far, if a person uses it, they love it. But any input would help.

This is just my use case that maybe no one else runs into, but I know at a couple local ranges the bench height is quite high compared to the seat, and it's all concrete so you can't adjust anything, so I always run into the problem trying to use a squeeze bag that even the short ones are too tall (and I'm 5-11). Even most of the dedicated rear bags with ears are too tall.

I could see something like this being really versatile if it would accept a various bag sizes and perhaps have a cut out in the middle to get even lower without compromising bag stability

We have a range here with benches like that. The range provides 3 square sand bags at each bench. I bring my own front/rear bags and sit on the provided sand bags. Works great.

Yeah I've been thinking about trying some "foam balance pads" just have to get the sizing right, or big enough to cut down. They are usually like 2" thick super stiff foam used for standing on to engage more balance muscles, but should work as a really good seat spacer that's not rock hard but solid enough to not collapse.

I've thought about garden kneeling pads since they are usually thinner so you could get 2-3 and adjust, but a lot of them seem too soft.

Nothing wrong with being short….

Ask that one guy.

This and similar items are common in the ELR comp world.
I just use the old TAB rear bag I bought at Mile High. Schmedium Game changer if its really high, but kinda hate the feel of that big bag in my hand.

Are you not used to a big bag in your hand?

Some random other ideas

For use with a benchrest-type rear bag:

This Aussie guy makes rear bag risers, some with lateral control too:

Similar design made in USA, the fusion pro rear elevator rest:

A lighter than metal versions triangle:

For angled stocks

Slightly interesting if you have an angled stock:

Or, of course there’s the Adjustable Bag Riser thing:

Personally, I use the Compromise bag from our very own Mark Taylor @Enough Said. I like squeezing as it makes me feel more connected to the shooting.
