This is what Galteri did in Argentia in the early 80's. The country is falling apart, lets reclaim those islands that everyone in the country belongs to them. This is what I have been doing to Athlon. I bought one of their nicer optics that was still made in China. Had glass issues. 8 replacement scopes later, still had glass issues.

Will never buy another athlon or another Chinesium scope, no matter how "good" it is.

That is why I don't understand all the hype over the Bushnell Match Pro scope. It's made in China, and there are equal or better non ChiCom options available for similar price.

I agree with you. They will have the advantage of china being "right over there". Issue is it is over there. If you can't control the air you are not going to win. In that case if you don't control under the water as well you are not going to win. Even in this day and age you are going to need ships to keep things supplied. I don't think they can do it by air for the same reasons you talk about, the stuff will just not keep working that long, it will fall apart.

And we know this, we don't assume this we know it. Currently we find vehicles left because a simple part failed, a water cooled engine will not last long with a a coolant hose. Stuff is being found with belts made in china, hoses made in china, tires made in china, and that is the only thing wrong with them. Sometimes they get destroyed before they bail, other times not. We know it is happening.

Really well written analysis. Thanks. You are assuming the ROCA fights, which may or may not happen, or at least I don't feel well enough informed to make that call. I'm all for giving them Javelins, Stingers, HIMARs and Harpoons/NSMs however with the hope they do fight.

Additionally, another hard problem for the Chicoms: the value of Taiwan is their semiconductor fabs. These assets are driven by US, EU and Japanese machines that need daily maintenance from western supplies and people. If not, they stop working in a matter of days. Chicoms go violent and all that daily maintenance ends and these fabs never produces another semiconductor, hence undermining the entire reason Chicoms went to war. On their own, Chicoms can't even come close to maintaining or replacing these machines.

Another problem: lots and lots of Chicom clients are US and EU companies. Go violent - and these companies are no longer clients. We are already seeing western boards waking up to the uncertainty of relying on supply from China. Companies like Apple, Nike and Nvidia are looking for new geographies for supply.

Now this economic disruption is a disaster scenario for the rest of the world as well, but one that we can move beyond, unlike the Chicoms.

All in, I like our cards and wouldn't trade even one of them with the Chicoms. All they have is cheap labor - and there are a 1 billion Indians that would like nothing more than to take those low wage jobs from the Chinamen.
