If this is political or religeous I apologize, but I don't think it falls in that cat. The "west" is being threatened by Iran. They claim there will be a "punch" to the west on Feb 11.

Anyone want to guess what that means?

I'm not trying to make light of this, nor am I wanting to be a fear mongerer. There is no need to be fearful, just be smart. I know easier said than done. But I figured discussion on this could take place without emotion-just theory. Yes I eddited and removed some points of my own already.

Again I'm not making light of this.

I pray for the safety of our soldiers who are in the Gulf, or Iraq, or Afganistan, all areas adjacent to Iran. I trust that there is leadership monitoring the situation. It could be a bluff but should not be underestimated.

I am at the wait and see because February 11, 2010 is tomorrow; the real question is what time will they unleash their happiness to the WEST? I hope they get a great responce to what they do.

Yeh, Israel can take care of themselves.
I don't mean that in a negative way, they deserve our support, but I don't think they need it! We might actually hinder them.

Someone on the radio said something about a possible EMP nuke over the US. It might need to be declared a forum free day where everybody gets off the computer, disconeects them, and stores them in the microwave. Some urban legend that the closed microwave will seal off the computer circuits from the EMP. If you have a tower that might not fit, but my stupid POS Mac mini has that one thing going for it, I can fit in in there, just as long as I don't accidently microwave some nachos on top of my computer.

I was always under the assumption that EMPs only effect electronics that have an active current load at the time of the pulse. Does anyone know if thats the case or not?

Oh yeah, I don't think Iran is going to do anything more than run their mouth some more.

I was under the impression that it jacked anything either running or not, but I could be wrong. It makes sense that electrons would have to be going through it, but maybe the pulse is enough that it starts a current all by itself.

Earlier, it was announced they had produced 20% enriched uranium. Who knows? There are sources that say the contrary due to setbacks.

EMP will jack any solid state circuit, running or not. Some of the more low tech devices are only effected if they are running, such as tube TVs.

ALabama got hit with snow? Suckingly dry this winter for Albuqurque! I like snow, this winter has sucked and we'll have a fire danger this summer for the Sandia mts!

Anyway, it looks as though all Iran did on the 11th was rape and torture its own citiznes in a massive crack down of protesters! Bunch of cowards! Thats all these coward dictators are able to do, just bully their own people! I better stop before I start sounding like I'm critisizing the US government.
