Your computing device actually makes all kinds of connections off into the big brother ether spaces and transfers God knows what when you click on some websites. I'm not talking about tracking cookies either. Lowlight's site is clean in that regard and there aren't a bunch of tertiary connections made to these IP ranges when you load the site.
For instance, load a site with your "secure browser" in "stealth mode", then your device is redirected in the background somewhere else to load a font or some other supporting element for the original. Well your device has now been associated to the original site which you thought was being surfed anonymously. Cookie blocker aren't entirely what they are cracked up to be. A VPN ain't doing much either for state actors. Additionally if your device has been connected to the Internet for some time, it may make some of these connections without your input needed anymore.
Those who want to see, will see it all.
And they want to connect our brains to the interwebs.
