well if we consider Israel an ally of ours....and Israel considers Jerusalem the capital....who are we to tell them its not?

because Palestine will get all butt-hurt?.....who gives a shit what they think? .....Palestine can go screw.


If England was all butt hurt that we consider DC our capital, would we expect our allies to not recognize DC as our capital?.....fuck no.

The arabs have been using sheep and goat intestines for birth control since 280 BC.

The whole region is a shit-show. I'm nowhere near a fan of Israel, I would much rather see the USS Liberty records declassified than the JFK records, but I also very much understand that the enemy of our enemy is our friend. Anything that pisses on Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas, I'm all for it. They can all suck a dick though, Israel included, because they knew damn good and well they were attacking an American flagged warship during the Six Day War, and the biggest shame is LBJ and every president since has let them get away with it by not releasing the truth to the American people.

Like it or not Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and belongs to the Jews. Or at least has for the past 4000 years off and on depending on who invaded at what times etc.

I’ve heard several people say that because of this, America can no longer lead in peace talks between Israel and the Arabs. That would be the best possible outcome for us. Let Great Britain be the arbitrator in the mess they created.

We have been doing the same stupid shit since 1979 when we were going to have "peace in our time".

The Arab alliance attacked Israel got their asses kicked, lost territory and are upset with that outcome and since that time have stated the destruction of Israel is their policy.

Too bad.

Interesting the sackless world is judging this issue according to one side saying they are going to go shithouse now.. IE what Kim suck balls and all these other extortionists do.

I think this is going to force some progress on this stupid shit finally. If nothing else it brings the wolves out of the woods into the clear so they can be gunned down on the front yard.

and.....I agree with Redman, Israel has some explaining to do about the Liberty while at the same time wouldn't surprise me to find out LBJ had that ship perhaps playing games that we shouldn't have been involved in. He seemed to like using the Navy for his intrigues as evidenced by the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

So let's see... The Arabs hate it. The Liberals hate it. The Press is apoplectic. Democrats are screaming the end of the world. The pope hates it. The Euro trash lefties hate it. The UN hates it. The Palestinian terrorists hate it. The Hollywood douchebags hate it.
While personally Icould care less where our Embassy is, if all those people hate the decisions so much.... I just got to love it.

Some of these Arcane moves that the White House is making... I have to judge by who is screaming the loudest against it. And when it's the above-mentioned groups, then it makes it pretty easy to tell that it's a good decision.

Pretty simple, when it comes to the middle east, Israel is about the best you'll ever get as a friend to America,
Pretty much the only middle eastern country with a functioning democracy, and religious liberty and such.
One of the few countries in that region where the religious leaders are not busy preaching death to infidels (like us) every worship service.
One of the few countries in that region with decent women's rights.

They are not stupid however in their foreign dealings with us and do what is in their own best interest, which perhaps some of our leaders could take a lesson from in their world dealings.
Unlike our politicians, theirs are under no illusions that they can trust anyone even their "friends" and always work hard to negotiate deals that are as much in their favour as possible.

If you think about it, the Israelis have built an amazing country from sand in a short period of time.
About 70 years ago a bunch of persecuted people with next to nothing, started pouring back into their ancestral homeland, to join the smaller number who were already there, the place was pretty much the same as it was 2000 years before, mostly desert and old stone buildings.

In 70 years they built a country that was one of the most prosperous countries in the whole region, has probably the 4th most effective armed forces in the world, is the worlds 4th biggest nuclear power (sorry french but they have more than you). Has a fully functioning democracy and social structure with plenty of freedom and liberty for those who join in. Produces a large amount of advanced products. All while being surrounded by a sea of hostile people who literally want to exterminate them and have tried several times.

They have their faults like everyone, but I'd say they are doing pretty good.
That being said, America is still better by far, (hence why I'm not living in Israel, they have these annoying things like high taxes, very restrictive gun laws, and just about no land to be had).

Those eastern European countries have been great allies since emerging from the iron curtain and currently they seem to be the only ones in Europe displaying any sort of sanity regards their borders.

More than just the poles, most of what was once under the iron curtain are of the same mentality. They know what being fed a steady diet of shit looks like. Not so much for the West. They’re still eating it up and asking for seconds.

There are a couple of outstanding books on how the Israeli's pioneered new agronomy and irrigation techniques to make the desert come alive. The same agronomy could work across much of the arid Middle East... and none of it is a state secret. The plant strains and watering methodologies are all public record. But the Arabs (Palestinian people is a made-up term....) would rather sit around and claim victim status. Starting with the Arab Identity movement and Pan Arabism in the '60's. Sounds like some other groups we know.

Nobody is too poor to clean up their yard. In 70 years... you can turn a frontier into an industrial or agricultural or information economy.... just ask, say, any Western country.
