Ranged 66% IPSC steel silhouette @ 645 yards. I opened my tailgate, hopped up and laid down getting positioned to shoot a few rounds before I left the ranch for the day. I looked up, and
I thought quietly to myself, "what's that in the road? ....COYOTE." I quickly chambered a round, got up the kneeling position as he trotted off into the bushes. I dialed my scope down to 12 power and mouth squeaked looking for movement. Movement caught my eye, pointed my rifle in the direction and immediately saw ears in my scope. I mouth squeaked a few more times. The ears bounced forward, until a face was just visible in between some mesquite bushes. I put the vortex AMG's reticle dead between his eyes. Bang! I chamber another round, switched on my safety, grabbed the Hornady brass casing off my line-x bed and hopped down off the tailgate. Roughly 150 yard walk, the coyote was DRT.

After snapping some pictures, before leaving I made a point to shoot at the steel I had originally set up for. 645 yard head shot on the steel.

I was satisfied to quit while I was ahead and packed up. The cab of the truck was a nice refuge from the horde of mosquitos. I put the truck in drive and smiled. Another great day in the God's creation.
