Gunsmithing Sonoran desert institute gunsmithing degree

Re: Sonoran desert institute gunsmithing degree

Regret,

SDI is what used to be referred to as a 'Correspondence' school. The category then changed to 'Remote Learning' and now has become Online Degree programs. No matter the title, the concept is still the same. You pay your money and they send you books and material to study. There are assignments which you complete, then return some form of response such as tests, papers or even some projects. This depends on the school's structure.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The Sonoran Desert Institute, or SDI to our students and faculty, is an accredited online school providing undergraduate degree, diploma and certificate programs in allied health, real estate and construction and firearms technology.</div></div>

There are others also which operate by the same idea.

Go to their website and read it all very carefully before committing with your hard earned money.

You could probably do just as well by buying some of the best repair books and studying them, then practicing. I think this is largely a waste of time and money but that's just an opinion.

Regards.

Re: Sonoran desert institute gunsmithing degree

I have purchased the entire course of the Sonoran and Modern Gunsmithing School at gunshows.
Sonoran is totally lame, you will learn just as much if not more purchasing Roy Dunlaps "Gunsmithing" and reading it. The Modern course is a little more in depth but again you will be monies ahead just buying the aforementioned book, and it is dated.
Save your money and time and go to a bonafide quality school such as Trinidad or Yavapai.
the correspondence courses will not help you land a job
