As a lot of you know I'm into the FPV scene, aka "Drones"........
I'm watching the new season of Suns of Guns and they show a quadracopter and want to make an anti-IED quadracopter..

The flight controller they were using has a NASTY habit of just up and flying off on it's own, google "NAZA Fly away" and you'll see it's like an AD, it's not IF it happens, it's WHEN it happens.

BAD BAD BAD HORRIBLY BAD IDEA. Mounting a gun under a DJI NAZA???I mean I'm on an anti-NAZA kick but that's possibly the dumbest idea I've ever heard of!!!!!
I saw they wanted to make an anti-IED with a friggin quad!

Then they zoomed in and I saw NAZA.
HOLY CRAP.........I can see it now, quad flying over Baton Rouge randomly firing at people because it flew away......

God I hope they don't follow this idea, at least Will has the common sense to say NO......
Holy smokes.......about had a heart attack.
IT's hard enough keeping it flying as it is, let alone carrying a multi-shot weapon, which I'm sure is illegal even with a class III license and/or DOD contract!!

For the love of God I hope they don't do this........

Case in point, was doing a test flight to test a switch to switch between the HD camera and thef light camera - worked well, turned around to come back home.

This quad is worth, WAS worth, about $2200.......I managed to get $375 for the wreckage.

All because of a company that has a KNOWN Issue with their flight controller....I went to a US Made controller that allows you to log the data and view it, unlike this proprietary chinese crap.
"So sorry, please buy another" - F that.

I fly on HAM band, have a HAM license, 433mhz, not 2.4ghz (2.4 video), I've flown these receivers out beyond 4 miles with no issue, so control is by the flight controller, 100% validated it was a faulty controller...
Barometric pressure, vibrations,

(still watching) HOLY CRAP THEY AREG OING TO BUILD IT.........

Rule #2 in FPV - NEVER BUT NEVER fly THROUGH a GoPro, always have a primary CCTV cam and switch TO the GoPro to aim, GoPro is about as unreliable on Video out as the Flight Controller in question.

BUT NO, they are going to fly through the GoPro.

IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I bet the legalities of that will be huge. I remember about 20 years ago the dod showing up at a friends hay farm where John Deere and a remote guidance company were testing tractor drones for farming and they didn't like the idea of that, let alone mounted weapons.

Flying on the ham is definitely the way to go over the way over crowded 2.4g.

Huge difference between ground mounted and airborne sysems though. John Deere and the likes are GPS operated and worst case they drive into a ditch or a house.

A drone with a known defective flight controller, on 2.4ghz LOL - worst case is that it flies off 2-3 miles and randomly starts firing.......ENTIRELY POSSIBLE..

IT was for ratings, at the end they stated it was for R&D only.

I'd be willing to bet they shot down from a crane and not from the aerial vehicle, it's HIGHLY illegal given all that is in the news about the FAA losing the fight against commercial drones.
(Yes I'm aware they are appealing it but the genie is out of the bottle now)

I was just making a point that the government is not really receptive on the private drone sector.

I still bet there is some guy hanging a gun off his drone in his mom's basement right now!
