SP Vs. SPS

Planning on purchasing my first rifle in a few months. Haven't had the chance due to back to back deployments. I've read a lot of threads on these forums and the popular rifles are the Remingtion 700 SP and SPS. I am hoping to get some positive feedback on which would be best for long range. It won't be for much competition mostly for fun matches and hunting.

Thanks,

Jim

Re: SP Vs. SPS

I purchased the SPS tactical 308 with 20 inch barrel. Even in its factory junk Hogue stock it would shoot sub MOA. It is now threaded for an AAC cyclone, ceracoated OD green and bedded into a McMillan A3-5. I am impatiently saving funds to purchase the Badger M-5 bottom metal. I cant wait to see what this rifle can do with a quality stock.

Re: SP Vs. SPS

So far, so good with a SPS Varmint 300WSM. Great stick to get started with......LOL!......Sort of a "Gate-Way" type drug to lead you into a very expensive addiction...hahahaha!

Re: SP Vs. SPS

Thanks for the replies, i'm not sure i want a 20 inch barrel. I'm looking for a good quality rifle in 7mm, should have said that before. Any other suggestions?
