sp10 lapping.

Reading so much on the lapping and wondered if anyone has done the sp10. I have read it’s not needed on the billet stuff but then I read it is and so forthe and so on. I have a sp10
Builders kit and it’s got me considering it

I thought about that same thing when they first released the builders kit. I don't think you can properly get in there to true the receiver face anyway because of how it's recessed inside the front of the the upper?? If anyone has a pic of the receiver face so I can see how much room there is to work, would be helpful.

Even if it did fit the clearance would be extremely tight and the lapping compound would get every where in the barrel nut threads along with any material that got lapped ( if any). I decided the mess was not worth fooling with and put my faith behind seekins CNC work being spot on. Im glad i did. I still used the green lock tight and my results have been outstanding.

I never use those at home lapping tools the margin for error is just too high I send mine off and have it done professionally by Smith pretty much the same way you would true the face of a Remington 700 receiver.
