Split necks: Pressure, or tired brass?

Gents, need some help. Just got back from the range today, and I had probably 2/3 of my necks split. This from my standard 308 load that I shoot all the time:

Full Prep Winchester Brass
178 A-Max's with a 10 thou jump
43.0 gr RL15
BR-2 primers

Rifle is a Remington 700 with a 24" Kreiger 10.

I have no idea what this round will do as far as velocity, I don't own a chronograph. No obvious pressure signs. Primers are flattened a little bit, but nothing to be alarmed about, I've seen worse. No sticky bolt lift, no ejector marks, no extraction issues. I've reloaded this batch of brass maybe 8 times. Nothing crazy.

Temps today were pretty brisk when I arrived, 33 degrees farenheit, no wind. I have heard about pressure sensitivity from RL15, but I figured that would be on a hotter day, not colder. I've been reloading now for over 20 years, and I've never seen this.

Does this sound like a pressure issue, or is the brass just done? I neck size only, with a Redding neck sizer. I don't see any swelling near the case head, and the pockets are tight as new.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Re: Split necks: Pressure, or tired brass?

I looked at load calculations and I don't believe that pressure is an issue. Given that you are neck sizing only and all the case failures were in the neck, I have a question. Are you using the sizing button? If so, that may be the problem, just overworked necks. You can prolong the neck life by not using the sizing button and annealing the necks at regular intervals. Hope this helps.

Re: Split necks: Pressure, or tired brass?

Neck diameter in chamber is 0.345 (assuming 0.001 spring back after firing), loaded round is 0.336 with Win/BHA brass.

Button is overworking brass? Possible but I'd be looking elsewhere for root cause of brass work hardening/split necks.

Re: Split necks: Pressure, or tired brass?

Lapua with 15, never been annealed and pulled a expander through it every time as necks got dinged up on eject.

Win with 6-7, same deal for loading.

I'm guessing there is brass galled on the expander ball, scoring inside of neck that is split.
