So I am looking at getting a spotter with reticle, I'm giving the tract toric a real hard look. Their reticle is like so

other spotters like the Lmss2 have this style

    shopping

So my question is when using a spotter for elr with the open reticle do you see the splash and try to extrapolate the correction? And with the bottom reticle do you overlay over the target for a more exact correction?

I’m with the others. I like something like the vortex. Basic horizontal and vertical with .2 mil.

I currently run a hensoldt 45 with Horus. It’s not my favorite, but it has .2 and I can just use the top of it as it sits in the bottom 1/3 of the FOV.

I’m in the same boat and didn’t know Tract made a spotter. Not to derail, but anyone have experience with the Tract?

Kinda feel like the Leupold isn’t broke so I don’t wanna fix it (don’t own either right now)

    ETA: Nevermind I don’t want a Tract that’s a fixed 22x

I have a Leupold Mk 4 12-40 spotter w TMR and I think it’s pretty dang good and not too big. I like it but I don’t know much.

40 may not suit for ELR, dunno…but I wonder if when looking at ELR range if more mag isn’t negated by worse mirage?

Vortex has a 22x mil reticle eyepiece for the razor spotter. Just a simple T reticle
Yeah, I like the reticle Vortex uses in the eyepiece for the Razor. Simple T with 0.2s. I've used Horus-type reticles in a spotter before (LMSS with H something-something) and find they obscure too much of the target/around the target. I ended up using them with the reticle way below the target so as to not obscure things so much.

The day after PRE some fellas had the Hensolt and a Swarovski set up side by side on the UKD range.
Overheard a couple guys talking and they both liked the Henny better.
I didn't hear the exact reasons, so I won't try and guess why.

Someone around here could probably clarify what was said and the reasoning.

The Hensoldt has somewhat better glass than the Swaro, along with being a bit more compact. I prefer the reticle in the Swaro, but the VERY short eye relief makes that scope almost unusable for me.

That was probably my swaro next to the henny.

That Monday we went to the 2500yd range with frank. I sold my swaro and bought a henny after that day.

The 15x low end was much better in the mirage. The optic is also shorter, but it is also taller. And the henny is a bit more rugged.

I like the on/off of the swaro. But I wish they would have done .2 throughout. If it was .2 throughout, I may have favored the swaro just for being able to turn off the reticle.

The downside to henny is that if it gets busted, it’s going overseas for a while.

For me, it was the 15x low end and .2 in the h32. Though I don’t need the rest of the grid. Just the vertical and horizontal would be fine for me.

That day is also the point where I finally got fed up with 905nm lasers and bought a vector 21 from Cory.

Was having issues ranging through the mirage past about 1200yds.

Was a pretty expensive day for me.

I figured you'd jump in here, but I didn't want to rat you out. 😂
