Rifle Scopes Spotting with SFP scope?

To make it easy, lets say 16x, at 8x the values double (2 mills between each dot) on MOST SFP scopes.
Remember, with a SFP scope, the target increases with size, and the reticle remains the same, so it is subtending LESS as the magnification INCREASES.

So if I see 3 mils on half power I cut it in half? Shopping for a scope for the CZ and there's just tons of great deals on SFP scopes. And I want to retain a fine crosshair. So I was thinking just go sfp and cut my calls in half.
While both correct. It is a path filled with error issues. Is 1/2 zoom really 1/2 zoom? Did I forget as I changed the zoom to change my math?
Today, with the ranges and reduced size targets, the worthiness of the scope reads are more criticize than ever. Why even worry about a tall target calibration, if we are going to use SFP on some no calibrated and verified zoom level? Imagine calling .3 correction when you scopes reticle might that far off?
The other way if it is Indexed at full power.
Is your CZ a 22? Look at some of the FFPs with a floating center.. Even Athlon makes a cheap one
You could also ask is full power really full power? Yes it's a .22. I'm looking at the Midas 4.5-27x. Running on half would put me at 13.5 which is about right for what I'd want to do but I could also zoom up if needed. I'm not trying to be super competitive, just have some fun without breaking my wallet. I can't afford another Steiner like my other rifles wear.

Got it.. ya, on a 22 spotting and comunications are not in play.
The 22 thing: If you can find a Athlon that uses the APLR2 Mil reticle in FFP, you will most likely find it fine for the purpose. I tested a few models and kept one for a MKII. Also worth thinking about is the 5-25 PST gen2 FFP is about the same $ as the Ares FFP, but with better reticle, turrets and glass at max, zoom. I returned the Ares; but put Vortex on a 30moa rail, zerod at 25 on my Vudoo.
Just to put this out there, at positional, especially things like NRL22 type setups, most will be shooting magnifications like 8-12x on a 5-25 FFP. As such this often results in a much finer aiming point than it’s SFP relative. If your only shooting at max power, on paper then it can tip back to the SFP having a smaller subtentions to target size.. but most people forget the former.

No. DOUBLE as in X2, as in twice as much.
Honestly, I would look to get an inexpensive, primary arms scope or the Falcon M18+ in FFP.
The PMA 4-14 is if not, the same scope as the Athlon Talos BTR FFP 4-14; same mushy turrets but a way better reticle
I'm not putting either of those "scopes" on my rifle. But yes double it, x2. I had it backwards. Thanks.
