Im looking for a SPR barrel for a hunt and of course its in 10 days. The only barrel i found in stock was DPMS. Was wanting to stay away from it but seems loike the only answer as of now. trying to stay under 300 if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

I vote for the option above but if the DPMS is one of their SPR Mk12 barrels, they got those right. By that, I mean that I'm like you, I don't use anything DPMS becuase they are not known for their quality but when they began manufacturing their Mk12 barrels, they did it right and they are shooters. One of the most accurate SPR rifles I've seen was wearing a DPMS Mk12 barrel.

It's a bit different but not enough for the lay person to worry about. The short answer is that a wylde chamber can shoot 556 and 223 just fine while still being accurate with match ammo using long bullets like 77s and 80s.

White Oak from Brownells would be a no-brainer as well, have also had decent luck with Criterion. I like an 8 twist 18" but some people favor 7 twists there are arguments for both and neither is really a bad choice.

brownells only has the wylde. just want to make sure i can still shoot the 556/223. thanks for the help
.223 Wylde is one of the most common chamberings for AR barrels and it will serve you well. It is nothing more than a hybrid chamber which, as BCP said, will allow you to run BOTH .223 Rem AND 5.56 NATO reliably and offer you excellent accuracy with quality ammo.

i need to order a for end. i would like something that tapers back into the receiver and is slim line. i like the daniel defense look but not sure what to look for. any ideas
Midwest and troy have smooth float tubes that are customizable. Also there is a keymod type rail system out there for about the same price, maybe a little more but damned if I can remember who makes it.
If you can afford it the precision reflex carbon fiber one is awesome. I love mine. But it's 300+bucks and the midwest/troys are sub 200.

Knowing what you want to spend will go a long ways in helping you with some options. Like most things AR-related...options range from fairly inexpensive for basic aluminum free-float tubes to ~$400 of some of the "high end" components.
The Troy handguards, as well as the JP/VTAC handguards are very nice and offer a good deal of flexibility in terms of how you set them up for rails/add-ons. Apex also makes some damned nice offerings that are textured and offer the same degree of flexibility as the others in terms of adding rails where you want/need them and leaving other areas well enough alone...they also won't break the bank at ~$200.
Don't count out excellent offerings from Seekins, PRI, Lancer and others as well, but those will come at a slightly (or in some instances, considerably) higher pricetag. Again...its tough to point you in the right direction without much more info to go on.

from what i have seen, the jp is my favorite but with the rail add ons its 300+. i dont mind so much the cost but just want to buy once. hate getting something real nice to find later that there is something out there i would rather of had cheaper.
I built up an upper with one of AR Performance's 16" SOCOM profile Melonited barrels.
.8" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with 23.2 gr IMR 4895 behind a Hornady 75 gr HPBT are the norm.

I have an 18" Black Hole Weaponry and a 16" WOA. The WOA outshoots and runs faster with the same load than the BHW. How's sub-moa at 750 yds. with a 16" barrel? If you can get a WOA barrel... buy it if you can't get or afford a Krieger.
