I need more guns like I need a huge hole in my head, but i've shot a few 1911s now and I really like the platform. The svelte single stack 1911 handles really well for me. I'd have to do a little penny pinching to splurge on a nice 1911, but I dont want a mediocre 1911.
The Wilson CQB Elite is a badass gun, id really like to get one in that class, but i dont have 3500 dollars right now. The TRP from what I've read, seems to be damn near as good for 1/3 the price.
Heres what i want:
-Reliability (a given)
-Great fit and finish. (at least 1500 bucks worth)
-Minimal/no MIM
-Accuracy (once again, at least my moneys worth)
-A respectable gun that will still be respectable in 25 years
-A tough gun that will stand up to abuse and age gracefully.
-A good gun for target practice at the range
-A good gun to ride on my hip if the LE career happens
Im thinking black slide and frame with a set of nice VZ G10 panels and wilson magazines. Im undecided. I may save for longer and get the Wilson CQB Elite if its worth the cost difference. Id be able to spec out everything i want on the build that way.
Sorry for the rambling, what are your thoughts?
